“We are committed to elevating the site design experience through growth and innovation, so it was a natural expansion to add land surveying to our services,” Russ Seamon, president of SeamonWhiteside, said in the news release. “This new department will allow us to create a seamless workflow and higher levels of collaboration between our surveyors and designers, resulting in a better experience for our people and clients. Surveying will also expand synergies between our innovation and water resources departments. We are excited for what’s to come."

Spearheading this new team is Mike Schmieder, who brings more than a decade of experience in land surveying. Earning his Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from The Citadel. He began his career as a professional land surveyor for Southeastern Land Surveying LLC. Over the last 10 years, Schmieder has contributed to well-known projects including the Port City Centre Industrial Park, Indigo Square and Moultrie Middle School.

Schmieder will initiate, grow and oversee surveying for SW+, first establishing the department in the Lowcountry, and expanding to offer the service to SeamonWhiteside’s additional four offices throughout the Carolinas. Joining the founding team is Kyle Atwood, SW+ survey crew chief, and Jordan Cadiz, SW+ surveying field technician. This new team will tackle front-end surveying from boundary, tree, topographic, and ALTA Survey for Camp Hall, Ferry Wharf and Port City Centre.

It has been a year of growth for SeamonWhiteside. From developing its first water resources team to hiring its first dedicated director of marketing, the firm says it is poised for exponential growth. Each addition brings the kind of knowledge and experience that enhances the breadth of services offered to clients, the release said.

The company is hiring.

SeamonWhiteside provides master planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, urban design services and permit coordination to public and private clients throughout the Carolinas.
