Atlanta restaurant to open downtown Charleston location

An Atlanta restaurant has plans to open a downtown Charleston location later this spring.

The Select is expected to open at 465 Meeting St., at the base of Greystar’s corporate headquarters building, in late May.

The Select will focus on sophistication and charm, a news release stated. Diners can expect upscale decor and live music at the location.

“Charleston’s magnetic charm and culinary allure make it the perfect next stop for The Select. Its rich history, vibrant food scene, and warm hospitality made the city somewhere I always loved to visit,” said owner Dave Green in the release. “When the opportunity to work with Greystar came along, we knew it was meant to be.”

The Select’s menu will infuse French continental cuisine with the traditional flavors of the Lowcountry, the release stated. Menus will include small plates like The Select’s famous French onion soup and lobster Arancini, as well as larger entrees like miso sea bass and steak frites. In addition to full brunch and dinner menus, a raw bar offering a curated selection of freshly shucked oysters and seasonal seafood selections will be available.
