DWG Consulting Engineers celebrates 50 years in business

Mount Pleasant, SC – DWG Inc., Consulting Engineers (DWG), an engineering firm based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The company was founded in 1972 in Savannah, Georgia by Cornelius Jerome Dulohery PE. The one man electrical engineering firm expanded in 1974 when Jim Weeks, PE, joined as a mechanical engineer and again with the addition of Carl Gagliano, PE, in 1975. The firm then changed its name to Dulohery, Weeks, and Gagliano, Inc., Consulting Engineers.

The company expanded into South Carolina with a Mount Pleasant office in 1991. In 2008, the Mount Pleasant office became an independent corporation under the ownership of Mike Weeks, PE, and Phil Dalpiaz, PE, and rebranded as DWG Inc., Consulting Engineers.

In mid-2020, DWG became a 100% employee-owned ESOP company, and in 2022, Brian Bates, PE, was promoted to company president.

DWG has grown from a staff of 13 in 2008 to 39 Employee-Owners in 2023. The DWG team includes 14 registered professional engineers.

The company recently celebrated its anniversary with a party for employees and clients at the Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island. DWG was part of the design team for the recent stadium renovation.

Today, DWG provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and commissioning engineering services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including those in K-12, higher education, healthcare, parks, and churches.
