Allegiant will fly nonstop from Charleston to three cities in Ohio as of June.
The Las Vegas-based airline announced plans to launch a nonstop service between Charleston and Columbus, Ohio, beginning June 7. The seasonal route will run on Fridays and Mondays between Charleston International Airport and Rickenbacker International Airport.
The route is expected to bring nearly 3,500 passengers to the Charleston area each year, the airline said.
“We’re confident that Columbus-area travelers will be thrilled to take advantage of these convenient, ultra-low-cost flights to enjoy this beautiful, historic destination,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue, in a news release.
Allegiant also plans to launch nonstop service between Charleston and Cleveland, beginning June 6. The seasonal route will run on Thursdays and Sundays between Charleston International Airport and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
These new routes are in addition to Allegiant’s nonstop routes from Charleston to Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh.
