Cummings & McCrady merging with Moseley Architects

Cummings & McCrady Inc. is merging with one of the Mid-Atlantic’s largest architecture and engineering firms with offices in Charleston and Columbia.

In 2006, Cummings & McCrady first partnered with Moseley Architects, while working on the Whitesides Elementary School project for Charleston County School District.

Cummings & McCrady is located at 44 Markfield Drive in Charleston and provides architecture services with a focus on education, civic and historic preservation. Projects include the Charleston County Public Services Building, Sullivan’s Island Elementary School, Folly Beach City Hall, the College of Charleston and more.

The firm, established in 1957, is led by principals Jerry English and Ben Whitener. Moseley is based in Richmond, Va., and was founded in 1969. 

“Merging with Moseley Architects will allow the Charleston office to gain the resources and expertise necessary to not only attract new clients, but to broaden our services offered to existing clients,” Whitener said in a statement.

Currently, the firms are collaborating on two middle school projects in Berkeley County, and they were recently awarded an indefinite delivery contract for Charleston County School District.

Moseley Architects’ Charleston office is located at 170 Meeting St. The company serves clients in 30 states and 11 countries with a concentration on K12, higher education, civic, justice, senior living and multifamily housing sectors. In addition to Virginia and South Carolina, Moseley Architects has offices in Maryland and North Carolina.
