Architecture, interiors, and planning firm LS3P has named Esperanza “Espy” Harper, M. Arch, EDAC, SSGB as its Innovation Leader. Harper earned her Six Sigma Green Belt from Villanova University and holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan. She has served as a Senior Medical Planner with LS3P for the past 5 years and has been a trailblazer in “innovative thinking” when addressing design problems and processes. Harper has applied lean design principles and knowledge of planning and data management software dRofus to healthcare projects, while building that expertise in fellow team members along the way.

As Innovation Leader, Harper will be responsible for leading LS3P’s firmwide efforts in researching and developing transformative ideas and unique solutions for our industry. “I’m thoroughly enjoying this pivotal moment in our industry,” Harper shares. “We are poised for groundbreaking innovation. I believe it will not only enhance our capabilities but, more significantly, revolutionize our built environment, promoting longevity and well-being for all.”

Harper’s 2024 quarter one goals include establishing an innovation pipeline, hosting “Fire Starter Sessions,” and promoting practice improvements. Harper explains, “We have just under 500 innovators in our organization. Our opportunity is to collect, process, and prioritize the great ideas I know we all have for improving our everyday and meeting our client’s needs. Innovation is already happening across the firm; my goals are to help prioritize and consolidate efforts where we can and establish metrics for reporting our ROI – Return on Innovation.”

LS3P’s CEO and Principal Marc Marchant believes Harper is uniquely positioned to spearhead firmwide innovation efforts. “Our LS3P vision is rooted in a culture of innovation,” he explains. “Espy brings enthusiasm, optimism, and a passion for continuous improvement to this role, and we are excited for her to lead us in best practices for design, technological integration, and optimizing process.”
