Three months after naming a president and CEO to replace Lorraine Lutton, Roper St. Francis has resumed its search for a new chief executive.

A spokesman for Roper St. Francis said Brian White, who was named CEO in April, would not be able to take the job after having to attend to health and family matters unrelated to the hospital system.

White was named the health care organization’s first new president and CEO after a restructuring in 2019. In that move, Lutton accepted a position as market operations executive at Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Roper St. Francis said that Jim Berg will continue as interim president and CEO while a national search is conducted for a permanent placement. Berg, who previously led Texas Health through the 2014 Ebola outbreak, has been serving as interim executive since January.
