South Carolina Department of Revenue agents arrested the operator of a Charleston County restaurant and store on March 11 and charged him with 10 counts of operating without a retail license.

Roger Sylvester Cameron, 59, of North Charleston, is the operator of Tricam LLC, and its businesses, Camme’s International Grocery and Camme’s Caribbean Cuisine, according to a news release from the Revenue Department.

According to arrest warrants, Cameron was responsible for all financial matters with the businesses. The businesses had only one retail license between the locations. State revenue officers revoked Cameron’s retail license in February of 2023, the releases stated, but did not give a reason for the revocation.

According to s Cammie’s International Grocery Facebook page, the business has been in operation for more than 20 years. The last post on the page was July 22, 2023.

Camme’s online order menu was active, featuring dishes such as oxtails, curry goat, brown stew chicken and escovich fish under an “Island Entrée” section and, under “Southern Cuisine,” seafood rice dinner with shrimp, stew salmon, fried fish, and shrimp and gravy.
