Businesses interested in leasing space in Summerville can now look to The Hub at Nexton.
The 8-acre commercial development within the master-planned community will consist of 88,000 square feet of space that can be leased in 2,000- to 30,000-square-foot facilities for medical, retail, office and restaurant space, the company said in a news release.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for later this year and is expected to be completed by first quarter 2023.
The commercial campus will include five one- and two-story buildings that face a central courtyard available for events, classes and outdoor workspace — adding further to Nexton’s status as the region’s third major job center, the release said.
“As the newest office destination along I-26, The Hub at Nexton answers the increasing demand for premier office space within the region,” said Daniel Pellegrino, vice president at Bridge Commercial. “Berkeley County and the surrounding areas have experienced phenomenal economic growth over the past decade, and this project will provide much-needed space to the new wave of businesses moving to or expanding in the region.”
The Hub at Nexton is located adjacent to Refuel Market and the Murry Apartments, and within walking distance from Brighton Park Village, Nexton’s first residential neighborhood, which sold out earlier this year.
“The Hub at Nexton will provide the region’s growing number of residents and employees with distinctive offices that inspire collaboration through communal green spaces and walkability,” said Phillip Manchester, managing partner at SL Shaw & Associates. “We also hope to help close the commuting gap to alleviate regional traffic issues on Interstate 26 by providing more office space in proximity to where people live.”
