 src=The Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation will honor lifelong civil rights activist Millicent Brown at the annual Commitment to Justice Award reception. All proceeds will support the center’s work to protect heirs’ property and promote sustainable land through increased economic benefit to low-income and historically underserved families.

The event will take place from 6-7 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets for this virtual streaming event are available for purchase online.


Charleston Friends of the Library is hosting a used book sale at the Baxter-Patrick Library Branch on James Island to raise funds that support the Charleston County Public Library’s programs and services.

The sale kicks off with an exclusive member event from 4-6 p.m. tomorrow. The shop will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Masked are required when entering the branch. The Baxter-Patrick branch is located at 1858 Grimball Road.
