Trident Health Names Kevin McKeown Chief Financial Officer

North Charleston, SC – Trident Health President and Chief Executive Officer Christina Oh has announced Kevin McKeown has been named the health system’s Chief Financial Officer. He will start September 17.

McKeown joins Trident Health from 454-bed HCA Healthcare Florida Memorial Jacksonville Hospital, where he served as Chief Financial Officer since 2019. In that time, McKeown supported investments of $120M in capital projects.

“Kevin’s knowledge of a large health system’s financial operations and his experience in hospitals that specialize in complex, high-acuity care are critical as we embark on an historic expansion of our services in South Carolina’s Lowcountry,” said Oh, who recently announced Trident Health’s plans to build a 50-bed, $270M acute care hospital on Johns Island, SC.

Trident Health, a part of the HCA Healthcare family of providers, includes two acute care hospitals, 321-bed Trident Medical Center and 124-bed Summerville Medical Center; 60-bed Live Oak Mental Health & Wellness; and four free standing ERs – Brighton Park Emergency, Centre Pointe Emergency, James Island Emergency and Moncks Corner Medical Center.

For the second consecutive year, Healthgrades awarded both of Trident Health’s acute care hospitals its America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award.

McKeown served as Chief Financial Officer at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA before joining HCA Healthcare Florida Memorial Jacksonville Hospital. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, he spent eight years at Deloitte & Touche in New York City, NY and Charlotte, NC as a manager in the Healthcare Audit and Mergers and Acquisition practices. He was responsible for auditing and advising large health systems, hospitals, health insurance plans, life science companies and private equity firms.

McKeown holds a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from Wake Forest University and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accountancy from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”), a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) charter holder and a graduate of HCA Healthcare’s Executive Development Program (“EDP”).

McKeown, a Fairfax, VA native, and his wife, Hillary, are proud parents of two children.
