Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is celebrating National Queso Day by combining two of its popular appetizers into one dish.

Beginning Sept. 20 and for a limited time, all three Mex 1 locations will be offering Street Corn Queso, which is cheese layered with warm street corn and topped with homemade Baja rub.

Burtons Grill in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is hosting Paws on The Patio monthly through November as a fundraiser for Charleston Animal Society.

Guests can bring their dogs to happy hour from 6 to 8 p.m. the second Thursday of each month through November, beginning this week. Attendees will receive two drink tickets and an appetizer buffet. Dogs will receive a party favor from Hairy Winston Pet Boutique.

Cost is $25 per person, with $10 donated to the Charleston Animal Society. The event is limited to 30 people, and reservations are required.
