Fiona Scott recently saw her dream come true. She opened Sôlt Wellness holistic spa in downtown Charleston. Sôlt Wellness offers a tranquil space away from the stresses of modern life. The unique combination of wellness therapies blends holistically to nourish the body, mind, and spirit.

When Scott began planning the holistic spa a year ago, she called on the SC Small Business Development Center (SC SBDC) for help. Business Consultant Jim Wetzel answered the call. Wetzel provided Scott with assistance on her business plan, financial projections, and cash flow management through no-cost consulting.

Wetzel introduced Scott to three of his other clients who helped move the project forward. Architect Charles Kane of FormVoid (https://formvoid.studio) designed the holistic spa facility; Tyler Blankenship with Elevate Technologies (https://www.elevatehometech.com) installed the network, audio and security services; and Tamara Fitzner, owner of The Skin Shaman (https://skinshamanstudio.com), is a master aesthetician who will provide some of the spa services.

“The role of the SC SBDC is to support our clients with no-cost consulting, education and resources,” said Wetzel. “In this case, it was a matter of gathering resources Fiona needed to realize her dream. I’m glad I was able to connect Fiona with some of my other clients who were willing to assist.”

Sôlt Wellness spa offers a variety of services including a salt room, infrared therapy, float pod, red light therapy, meditation pod, skin therapy and body work.

“I’m thankful for the guidance and support provided by Business Consultant Jim Wetzel and the SC SBDC,” said Scott. With the resources Jim introduced me to, my dream of opening a holistic wellness spa has come true.”

The SC SBDC mission is to advance South Carolina’s economic development by helping entrepreneurs grow successful businesses. The SC SBDC offers no-cost consulting, education and resources to small business owners. To request the services of the SC SBDC, call 843-740-6160.
