Ansonborough home sells for $4.5M

Maison Real Estate handled the sale of another Ansonborough home that pushes its way to the upper reaches of real estate real estate prices.
Listed by Maison agent Jennifer Davis, 21 Wentworth St. on May 2 closed for $4,525,000, almost 14% higher than the original asking price of $3,975,000.
According to the company, 47 homes in Charleston have sold for more than $3 million in the last year, but only three others topped the $1,149-per-square-foot price of 21 Wentworth. The home at 96 South Battery sold for $1,157 per square foot; 60 Church St. for $1,177 per square foot; and 9 Price’s Alley for $1,178 per square foot, the agency said.
Built around 1840, the 3,940-square-foot house at 21 Wentworth includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a staircase that curves up its three stories.
