Moncks Corner Marketplace, located at the corner of U.S. Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road, is expected to be completed in June 2022 with Publix opening shortly after in September. The entire shopping center encompasses 75,267 square feet and Publix will lease the center 48,387 square feet.

Other tenants are anticipated to include restaurants and retailers.

“We have seen tremendous growth in Moncks Corner over the past several years and are constantly in need for more accessible shopping and dining offerings for our residents,” said Moncks Corner Mayor Michael Lockliear. “The new Moncks Corner Marketplace will certainly be a welcomed addition to the community, and we are looking forward to a successful ongoing partnership with Branch Properties throughout the development process.”

Branch Properties specializes in the acquisition and development of shopping centers centered on grocery stores and purchased Columbia’s Village at Sandhill Marketplace I and II in 2005. The similar 117,017 neighborhood shopping center is anchored by a Super Bi-Lo in the city’s northeast region.

Chief Investment Officer Jesse Shannon said the real estate company is dedicated to finding “well-located sites” grocery stores that can benefit a community.

“As Moncks Corner continues to attract new residents, we believe that Moncks Corner Marketplace will become the dominant grocery, shopping and dining amenity for the town,” he said.
