A pedestrian-focused community in Johns Island is adding new businesses to its commercial and retail lineup.

Hayes Park has achieved a significant milestone in its creation of a live/work/socialize lifestyle, a news release stated.

A full dozen businesses have either opened or will be operating there within the next several months, according to the release. The arrival of a diverse set of commercial enterprises is a major step toward achieving the goal of creating a connected community, the release stated.

All businesses are housed in the Marketplace, a necklace of Lowcountry-style buildings that wind around a town center, the release stated.

New Leaf Builders, which developed the new community off Maybank Highway, will have its new Design Center located at Hayes Park, the release stated.

The following businesses will also be located in Hayes Park to serve neighbors and the broader community:

  • Dillard Jones: custom builder
  • Somm Wine Bar
  • High Steaks: butcher shop
  • Grace Frederick Design: interiors
  • Hey Day: market
  • Seaboard Builders: custom homes
  • New Leaf Builders Showroom
  • Noel Kade: architecture
  • Emily Daws: textiles
  • Opal Aesthetics: spa
  • Simple Tree: picture framing
  • Modern Chiropractic

“Our vision for Hayes Park has always been to create real connectivity,” said Adam Baslow, owner of New Leaf, in the release. “From our neighborhoods with their common courtyards and parks, to paths and boardwalks that connect to our diverse marketplace, we’ve focused on what is the true heart of a community.”

Hayes Park will also support numerous home styles in enclave neighborhoods situated among century-old live oaks, the release stated. To date, 12 homes have been sold. At its full occupancy, the community will feature 56 residences in numerous styles: attached single-family villas, “paired” villas with tandem garages, and “quad” villas with two-car garages and open floor plans.
