A North Charleston IT support and consulting firm is planning an expansion that will create 25 jobs in Charleston County, according to a news release.

Cantey Tech Consulting, which is located at 2702 Azalea Drive, provides hosting services, server management, data security and consulting services, as well as responsive IT support, to clients around the U.S.

The company, founded in 2007, has been named on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list every year since 2013.

The expansion will allow Cantey Tech Consulting to broaden its reach into the medical, legal, business and education sectors, according to the release. It is expected to be completed in 2023.

In affirming that the company would keep its headquarters and main office in the Lowcountry, CEO Willis Cantey said, “Charleston is a big draw for technical talent and, in our IT support and consulting business, people are everything.”

Gov. Henry McMaster applauded the company’s decision to expand.

“It’s always exciting to see one of our existing businesses increase its footprint in South Carolina,” McMaster said in a statement.

Charleston County Council Chairman Elliott Summey and Economic Development Executive Director Steve Dykes both said Cantey’s success is a testament to the robust business resources and talent available in the Charleston region.
