The Dig South Tech Summit kicks off in downtown Charleston next week, bringing in entrepreneurs, investors, tech executives, marketers, founders, programmers and authors from around the country.

Dig South Founder Stanfield Gray said the tech conference, now in its seventh year, is an effort to highlight and grow the Southeast’s tech sector overall, positioning it be more competitive with tech hubs like Boston, New York City and Silicon Valley.

Coverage of 2018’s conference:

Dig South: Investors share advice on pitching

Dig South: Indifference leads 1 manufacturer to a $500M buyout

Consultant at Dig South: Build iconic brands

Under Armour exec to Dig South crowd: Connect through stories

Gray added that the three-day conference gives companies access to global brands and creates space for attendees to connect. Those interactions can spur a venture capitalist to invest in a Southeast startup or a help a midsized business in Charleston gain insight from a seasoned executive on how to quickly scale operations, for example.
