A Chicago-based real investment firm has taken over ownership of a Charleston-area mall.

Singerman Real Estate has assumed full ownership over Citadel Mall, according to a news release. JLL has managed the center since February 2017 and will continue to serve as the management company moving forward, the release stated.

Financial details of the traction were not disclosed.

Citadel Mall was sold in February 2017 for $17 million to a group of buyers led by Richard C. Davis, who was known as a creator and star of A&E’s “Flip This House.” The mall was previously sold at auction in January 2014.

Some of the bigger retail stores at Citadel Mall, 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in West Ashley, include Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Belk. The center has over 60 stores, according to its website.

Beyond retail, the center features the 126,000 square foot MUSC West Ashley Medical Pavilion, a state-of-the-art facility serving the health care needs of the community, the release stated. The MUSC facility, located in a former J.C. Penney, houses primary care and several specialty care clinics including its new Breast Health Center.

The mall property is also home to large-scale film production space, the release stated.
