 src=House of Sage is celebrating 10 years in business. The company opened its first location at 51 George St. in the fall of 2009, followed by its second store in Suite E at 186 Seven Farms Drive on Daniel Island in February of this year.

An anniversary event is schedule for Nov. 8, with sales through that weekend. The Nov. 8 event will include sales, entry with any purchase into a drawing for giveaways, drinks, sweet treats and more. Anniversary events will be at both locations.


Guinot Institut Paris has opened its second branded beauty center in the United States at 303 Front St. in Summerville, in Nexton Square.

 src=A grand opening celebration is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, with tours, live music, hors d’oeuvres, sparkling wine, giveaways and product specials. Guinot beauty therapists will also demonstrate treatments and sample products for guests.

The salon sells 110 Guinot products and has three treatment rooms. Employees provide one-on-one consultations with customers to devise beauty regimens and treatment services tailored to their skin type and needs.

Services offered at the new salon include facials; slimming and body contouring; anti-cellulite treatments; European waxing; eye contouring; eyelash and eyebrow services including extensions and refills; and Masters Colors, Guinot’s makeup line.

Salon manager Amanda Morris has several years of experience as a medical esthetician and seven years as a professional makeup artist.

Guinot now has two locations in the area; its original salon is in The Market at Oakland in Mount Pleasant.
