The new luxury waterfront community is centrally located between Mount Pleasant and Daniel Island along the Wando River. The first model home can be toured daily at 372 Blowing Fresh Drive in Charleston, the company said in a news release.
In total, the golf-cart friendly community will include 117 single-family homes with 30 docks along the Wando River.
New homes range from 2,145 square feet to more than 3,300 square feet, and plans vary from three to five bedrooms and two-and-a-half to five baths. Prices start at mid-$500,000 and run upward of $1.6 million.
“We’re excited to open this one-of-a-kind community where residents can launch a boat or kayak from their backyard, take their golf cart to the community dock, and end the day relaxing fireside with friends and neighbors,” General Sales Manager Jacob Reynolds said in a statement. “Each floorplan has been carefully selected to blend classic and modern elements with architectural details that are designed to complement the extraordinary surroundings.”
In total, John Weiland Homes offers nine home designs for Wando Village. Plans include drive-under floorplans with unfinished garage space, double porches on the front and back of the house, large owners’ suites and an optional elevator.
The community also will consist of a community dock, a children’s playground, pocket parks, walking trails, a fire pit and a covered pavilion for gathering.
Founded in 1970, John Weiland Homes and Neighborhoods builds in 40 neighborhoods in the Southeast, including Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh. Other Charleston neighborhoods include Kiawah River, which features single-family homes and townhomes on Johns Island, and Dunes West Golf and River Club in Mount Pleasant.
