Sullivan’s Island home sells for record-breaking $8.2 million

A Sullivan’s Island home sold for a record-breaking $8.2 million last week.

The custom-built, oceanfront villa is located at 2307 Atlantic Ave. and is the most expensive residential home ever to sell on the Sea Island.

Realtor Meghan Stein Webster of The Cassina Group represented the buyer, the company said in a news release.

Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, the 5,000 square-foot property was designed by Beau Clowney, builder Daly & Sawyer, interior designer Jenny Keenan and landscape architect Wertimer + Cline.

Webster said the property is “truly iconic” and “merges the natural beauty of the Atlantic Ocean with superbly designed living spaces and carefully curated finishes.”

More than 2,000 square feet of decks wrap around the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home that includes a gourmet kitchen, formal dining room, media room, guest lounge, study and home gym. The master bedroom features dual bathrooms, while outside there are patios, covered porches, fireplaces, gazebo and a saltwater pool.  

The property was sold previously on March 2014, for $2.75 million, before the current home was built in its place in 2016.

The previous record sale on Sullivan’s Island was a properly that fetched $7.35 million in 2019. The Cassina Group also was the buyer’s representative in the transaction. Currently, the real estate firm holds the additional record for the most expensive property ever sold on the Charleston peninsula, having represented the seller.
