New mixed-use building opens in Mount Pleasant

The Beach Co. has completed construction on a mixed-use building in Mount Pleasant that is the new home of Beach Residential.

Coleman Central, at 736 Coleman Blvd., is a three-story, 20,000-square-foot retail and office space. It was built on a vacant lot that once housed a motel. The building was designed by E.E. Fava Architects and built by Mashburn Construction.

Beach Residential, the residential sales division of The Beach Co., occupies approximately 2,000 square feet of the second floor, including seven offices, a conference room, co-working space and a kitchenette. The second and third floors house executive office space.

The exterior of Coleman Central includes nearly 30% of glass storefront or curtain wall systems, Mashburn said in the release. The building uses structural steel and metal stud framing, with stucco and tongue-and-groove paneling made of plank and metal.

The building includes 20 parking spaces with concrete sidewalks and custom planter boxes.

Tim Cotter, development manager for The Beach Co., said in a news release, “We are very proud of Coleman Central and feel that it is a handsome addition to Mount Pleasant.
