HOT PROPERTIES: Two tenants find space at Charleston shopping center

Adams Property Group, headquartered in downtown Charleston, signed two new retail leases at the Gas Lite Shopping Center at 5601 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.

Gas Light Shopping Center (Photo/Provided)Stantec Consulting Services, the engineering firm for the South Carolina Department of Transportation, will take 4,130 square feet. This is an expansion of the existing SCDOT offices already located at Gas Lite. Chill and Grill leased 3,955 square feet. The family-style restaurant serves American cuisine and has five locations in Charleston, Goose Creek and Summerville.

There are three spaces still available, one fully equipped restaurant, a retail front and an anchor space which can be split, according to Adams Property Group.

Other commercial real estate transactions include a near $16.5 million deal involving a major hotel chain.

Markus Kastenholz, Remington Beatty and Alia Bostaji of Colliers represented Pearce Development in the sale of a 10,000-square-foot building at 36 N. Market St. and 0.5 acres of land at 235 E. Bay St. in Charleston to Marriott Ownership Resorts for $16,450,000.

Trey Lucy and Blair Belk of Belk Lucy represented the landlord in the lease of 3,359 square feet of retail space at 145 King St., Suite E, in Charleston to Hill House Home. Jeff Yurfest of The Shopping Center Group represented the tenant.

Markus Kastenholz and Remington Beatty represented Excelsior Capital LLC in the purchase of a 48,000-square-foot industrial building at 7644 Southtrail Road in North Charleston for $8,203,500.
