Several supporters inspired others to give through special donor challenges as well.
Walmart and Sam’s Club are continuing their commitment to address food insecurity in the Lowcountry through their “Fight Hunger, Spark Change” campaign. The most recent campaign helped create more than 950,000 meals for the Lowcountry Food Bank in 2019.
This year’s campaign will run in store and online through May 15. For every participating product purchased in store or online, the supplier will donate the monetary equivalent of at least one meal ($0.10) on behalf of a Feeding America member food bank at Walmart and five meals ($0.50) at Sam’s Club, up to applicable limits. Participants can also donate at check-out in stores or round up online, or donate directly to Feeding America’s campaign website at either FeedingAmerica.org/Walmart or FeedingAmerica.org/SamsClub.
