The Charleston Friends of the Library is hosting its 40th annual That Big Book Sale the weekend of May 20-22 at the Omar Shrine Auditorium. All proceeds will help fund services, training, materials and public programming for tri-county libraries.

More than 60,000 books in all categories including children’s, fiction, history, cooking, gardening, foreign language, classics and more will be on sale with prices starting at $1. Checks, cash, and major credit cards are accepted. Sponsors include Crews Subaru of Charleston, CarWin Logistics, Zaxby’s and Adams Outdoor Advertising.

Camp Happy Days, a nonprofit dedicated to providing support to South Carolina’s children diagnosed with cancer and their families, has moved to 933 Dupont Road in Charleston.

The 4,500-square-foot facility will offer on-site programs like play and art therapy, yoga, team building exercises, overnight lock-ins, drop-in sessions with staff, pre-teen and teen clubs, movie nights and more. It will also provide year-round space for volunteer training, program planning and storage to strengthen its signature summer camp, held at Camp Bob Cooper in Summerton.
