Geographic area or specific population served: We have provided safe water, sanitation and hygiene solutions in 56 countries and have over 350 staff members working around the world in permanent country programs.

Greatest need: 2.2 billion people around the world lack access to safe water and one person dies every 37 seconds from water-related illness.

 src=2020 Top achievements:

We provided safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions to more than 700,000 people in rural communities, refugee settings, and disaster areas. In response to COVID-19, we worked to ensure continuous safe water flow for families, frontline workers, and survivors of storms, earthquakes, famine, extreme violence, and war. We helped slow the spread of the coronavirus by providing handwashing and hygiene resources at under-resourced hospitals and clinics, water access points, schools, prisons, and other high-traffic areas.

2021 Goals:

1. We are intentionally strengthening our capabilities and expanding our programs in order to serve even more people this year. Our goal in 2020 is to reach more than 800,000 people: our highest goal to date.

2. With strategically placed resources around the world and extensive experience responding to health crises, we aim to continue to respond efficiently and effectively to strengthen and support vulnerable communities, with an emphasis on preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

3. Water Mission is the founding charity of the Global Water Center: a platform built to foster collaboration, create consensus, and share resources within the WASH sector. We’re bringing together the best minds, practices, standards, and innovations to drive scale, transparency, and accountability into all aspects of our collective work. A key element of the Global Water Center is the Discovery Center, an experiential venue, both physical and virtual, aimed at educating, equipping, and mobilizing the general public to participate in ending the global water crisis.
