Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center Prevent Child Abuse America, Darkness to Light, and the Exchange Club of Daniel Island are raising awareness for National Child Abuse Prevention Month through their Pinwheels for Prevention fundraiser.

Donors will receive a virtual pinwheel, which has come to serve as the national symbol for a safe, happy childhood.


 src=Autobell Car Wash is offering interior disinfectant service for vehicles. The optional service is currently being provided for free for essential workers who visit Autobell for an interior cleaning. It will also be provided as a free stand-alone service for first responders and government workers with a government-issued ID.

PurTabs is an Environmental Protection Agency-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant. It is applied using a fogging technique, followed by a one-minute activation period with car doors and windows closed.


Lowcountry Local First has partnered with business coach Thomas Heath to launch the Adopt a Local Restaurant campaign, aimed at helping the Lowcountry’s food and beverage companies and their staffs.

The community can “adopt” a local restaurant by pledging to order from them a minimum of once a week. Participants can also pledge to contribute to an employee fund or virtual tip jar if a food or beverage business has paused its operations.


The ReStart Career Webinar Series is a free online series that is a live, interactive alternative to the ReStart Career Development Conference originally scheduled for March 28.

Participants will receive the same core curriculum, with additional information based on current global events.

The course of six webinars will be held live at 6:30 p.m. every Monday starting May 4. Each meeting will consist of an hour of curriculum, followed by another hour for questions and answers.

After registration, participants will receive a notification to join a Zoom room.
