src=The Ponds in Summerville is scheduled to host a summer concert series from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 20 and Aug. 17 at the amphitheater next to The Village Pond.  Each month a donation will be collected and contributed to a nonprofit organization.

Island Trio is set to perform Saturday. The nonprofit selected for this event is the Summerville Dorchester Museum. Museum volunteers will be on-site to accept donations and provide information about the museum.

Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach was named one of 25 programs selected for Trident United Way’s 2019-20 community investment grant cycle. Our Lady of Mercy will receive $40,000 for direct services and $80,000 for free dental services each year.

The $80,000 grant will directly support the free, comprehensive dental clinic in the Wellness Center to low-income, uninsured individuals in the community. The nonprofit will use the $40,000 to support its direct services program that includes a clothing closet, a Lowcountry Food Bank designated Wellness Food Pantry and financial assistance. Direct services provide food, nutrition education and necessities to families in need.

The Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission’s nonprofit arm, The Parklands Foundation, has taken on a new name. Now known as the Charleston County Parks Foundation, the organization also will be using a new website.
