Helping Out for May 15, 2019

Helping Out highlights some of the many charitable events and activities going on in the Charleston area. ATTENTION: Submissions should now be made using our online form.

Housing for All Mount Pleasant teamed up with local crowdfunding platform Donate2it to raise $22,500 in the past two months. The funds are expected to be matched by the town of Mount Pleasant as part of its $50,000 challenge grant that was approved by Town Council earlier this year, according to a news release.

Charleston County Public Library and Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration are partnering for the fourth year to host several voter registration drives between May and September. Charleston County residents will have several opportunities through Sept. 28 to visit one of the 14 participating branches to register to vote.

Walmart, Sam’s Club, Feeding America and the Lowcountry Food Bank have partnered for the sixth annual Fight Hunger Spark Change campaign, which runs through Monday. Participants can purchase a participating item in-store or online to donate, donate in-store or donate on Feeding America’s website.
