Helping Out highlights some of the many charitable events and activities going on in the Charleston area. ATTENTION: Submissions should now be made using our online form.

Fame Performing Arts is scheduled to host a Queen Tribute Concert & Fundraiser at 6 p.m. Monday at Dockery’s restaurant on Daniel Island. The concert precedes the upcoming Bohemian Rhapsody movie about the British rock band.

Tickets are $15. All of the ticket sales will benefit the Fame Scholarship Fund, which provides performance opportunities to students of all ages through lessons as well as rock and music theatre classes.

LimRic Plumbing, Heating & Air has chosen Be A Mentor and the Summerville Sertoma Club as the September recipients of the company’s Give Back Grant, which provides donations to two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations each month.

Water Mission, a nonprofit based in North Charleston, has partnered with Fed Ex to deliver more than 1.1 million P&G Purifier of Water packets — enough to provide more than 11 million liters of clean drinking water — to people affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.

Water Mission has also shipped two of its Living Water Treatment Systems — a patented filtration system — and has 10 systems ready for deployment from its offices in Pekanbaru and Kupang, Indonesia. The organization is prepared to send an additional six treatment systems from North Charleston to Indonesia.

Each unit serves approximately 5,000 people per day.

The Poul Due Jensen Foundation has awarded Water Mission a donation to cover safe water distribution to 75,000 people in the rural communities around Palu, the largest  heavily damaged city in Sulawesi, Indonesia, in response to the disasters.

The Ronnquist family will serve as ambassadors for the March of Dimes’ 2018 Signature Chefs Auction on Nov. 15 at Memminger Auditorium. The family will share the story of their son, Nash, who was born at 24 weeks’ gestation and spent 55 days in neonatal intensive care before he died from complications of prematurity.

Respite Care Charleston is scheduled to host its annual More Good Days Art Gala from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Charleston Yacht Club. The event includes cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.

Tickets are $50 per person.
