Helping Out highlights some of the many charitable events and activities going on in the Charleston area. Submissions can be made online.

Baker Buick GMC Cadillac is offering national discounts to veterans and their families at Baker Motor Co. This discount is available to all active, reserve and retired military personnel and will be honored through the remainder of the year.

Baker Buick GMC Cadillac is also sponsoring the Run the Runway event set for June 9 and the Freedom Fest event set for June 29 at Joint Base Charleston.

Roper St. Francis Ryan White Wellness Center is scheduled to host its annual Art in the City “White Party” from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell Hill Gallery. The event coincides with the Spoleto Festival and includes art, live music and libations. Guests are encouraged to wear all white.

A $10 donation at the door is strongly suggested for entry into the event. All proceeds from the event and auctions/raffles will benefit the center, which raises awareness and funds for the fight against HIV and AIDS in Charleston. Ten percent of gallery sales will also be donated to the program.
