Dee Norton Movie Night: The Lion King is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Medical University of South Carolina Health Stadium on Daniel Island. The event will include a screening of The Lion King on a 3,000-square-foot video board, food trucks, face painting, balloon animals, games and crafts for children, and jump castles. Leashed dogs are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Admission is free. The movie night is part of Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center’s month-long awareness campaign as part of National Child Abuse Prevention month in April.


Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network is set to host Dolphin Count events at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. Participants are encouraged to help the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network count dolphins in the Charleston Harbor. All ages and photographers are encouraged to attend.


Nearly 30 restaurants are set to participate in Dining Out for Life on Thursday. The event raises awareness and money for the fight against HIV/AIDS in Charleston. Proceeds will go to the Ryan White Wellness Center at Roper St. Francis.


The Washout on Folly Beach is scheduled to host the last oyster roast of the season from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The event will include live music, vegetarian chili, hot dogs and a raffle.

Tickets are $30 each and the proceeds will benefit Pet Helpers.
