Blackbaud CEO Michael Gianoni has been named to Forbes’ 2019 list of America’s Most Innovative Leaders, joining the likes of Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Tim Cook.

Forbes compiled the list based on founders or CEOs of U.S. companies with greater than $10 billion market value; the 50 largest private U.S. companies to go public over the past five years; and other U.S. firms within the top 100 companies of the Forbes Most Innovative Companies list.

The executives were ranked based on their media reputation for innovation; social connections or public following related to innovation; track record of market value creation at their company; and investor expectations of future growth and innovation.

Gianoni was ranked No. 65 on the list out of 100; Amazon founder and CEO Bezos placed at the top of the list, followed by Tesla’s Musk and Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Apple CEO Cook was ranked No. 8.

Blackbaud is headquartered on Daniel Island, and Gianoni has served as president and CEO since 2014. Under Gianoni, the company has grown its customer base by 55%, according to a news release, and Blackbaud opened a new campus last year.
