STEM jobs on the rise across Palmetto State

Science, technology, engineering and math jobs have been on the rise, growing at over twice the rate of non-STEM jobs between 2009 and 2015, according to an analysis by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

And is it any wonder STEM is taking over the world? We live in a time when Elon Musk can send a Tesla into space (check the video) and we can stream the launch live from the comfort of our homes. We’re more connected than ever, we’re learning more than ever and, as a result, we’ve got more jobs in the STEM field.

South Carolina may not be Silicon Valley, but Greenville, Columbia and Charleston all made the list of best cities for STEM careers. Greenville was the 56th best city, Columbia was listed at No. 60 and Charleston landed at No. 67, according to a report from WalletHub.
