Charleston County Administrator Jennifer Miller will retire Tuesday after 34 years of public service.
She held various positions in other departments, including serving as planning director for seven years, before becoming county administrator in 2017.
“I have been so fortunate to work with the highly professional administrator’s staff the past 2 1/2 years, whom I will miss,” Miller said in a news release. “I thank God for an incredible career in public service and hope others will follow my example to just take the time to make a difference.”
The county administrator is appointed by county council to manage the functions of Charleston County government. Miller’s replacement has not been named.
