The Coastal Cupboard is holding its semiannual Charity Knife Sharpening Event to benefit the Charleston Basket Brigade from Friday through Sunday.
Knives will be professionally sharpened for $1 per knife, with no limit on the number of knives per person. All proceeds go to Charleston Basket Brigade, a nonprofit that provides Thanksgiving meals to local families in need.
The event will also include interactive knife skills demonstrations, samples and cutlery specials. The shop, in Belle Hall Shopping Center in Mount Pleasant, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Only straight-edge knives can be sharpened, not serrated knives.
The Charleston Basket Brigade provides a box filled with all the food items to cook a Thanksgiving meal: a 10- to 12-pound turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, fresh rolls and a pumpkin pie.
