Charleston International Airport has opened a premium shared-use lounge on the second level of its main concourse, called The Club CHS.

The 3,060-square-foot lounge seats up to 52 people, though the airport plans to expand the space to 4,041 square feet and 83 seats in the coming months.

The lounge will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, plus Friday and Saturday, as well as from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday and Sunday. The space is operated by Airport Lounge Development.

The Club CHS has six zones for customers to use, including a productivity and privacy zone with a desk-height counter and access to a printer; a relax zone with seating and electrical outlets; a resting zone with recliners and ottomans, reading lamps and electrical outlets; a replenish zone with dining options; a refresh zone with private restrooms; and a cell free zone where travelers can relax without cellphone use.

“This lounge shows our commitment in providing our travelers with first-class amenities that will enhance their passenger experience at Charleston International Airport,” said Paul Campbell Jr., the Charleston County Aviation Authority’s executive director and CEO, in a news release. “And thanks to our excellent partnership with ALD, we can now offer our passengers a premium service and space to utilize before their flight.”

Access is available to all airline passengers traveling through Charleston International who are members of the Priority Pass program offered by credit cards such as Chase Sapphire, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diner’s Club International. Individuals may also purchase a day pass for $40 per person.

“We are delighted to be a part of the exciting growth at Charleston International Airport,” Nancy Knipp, senior vice president at Airport Lounge Development, said in the release. “The Club CHS brings an alternative place for Charleston travelers to relax and experience the true spirit that makes Charleston an award-winning city for business and leisure.”
