High Wire Distilling Co. is expanding its Charleston operations with a move to a new facility in downtown Charleston.

The distillery, currently at 652 King St., is investing $3 million in the expansion, which is expected to create 45 jobs, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Commerce.

The new facility, located at 311 Huger St., will expand production capabilities and include a larger tasting room for visitors.

Earlier this year, High Wire was a finalist for the James Beard Award for outstanding wine, spirits or beer producer.

“The city of Charleston has been an incredibly supportive and vibrant catalyst for the growth of our company, and we look forward to being an integral part of this community for many years to come,” said High Wire Distilling founder Ann Marshall in a statement.

The new facility is expected to open in early 2020.

“High Wire Distilling Co. has enjoyed remarkable success as a member of Charleston’s business community over the past few years, and I know that this trend will continue in their new and improved facility,” Mayor John Tecklenburg said in a statement.

Prospective applicants for the new jobs can view openings online.
