On the Menu provides the latest news from the Charleston area’s culinary community, including new restaurants, new menu items and upcoming events, as well as details about local chefs. ATTENTION: Submissions should now be made using our online form.

Owens Dining Group is scheduled to host Mother’s Day events at its restaurants Langdon’s, Opal, and Wood and Grain on Sunday. The Mother’s Day menus are crafted from seasonally available ingredients. Langdon’s and Opal will be open for brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All three Owens Dining Group restaurants will be open from 5 to 9 p.m.

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day, Hyman’s Seafood is set to offer teachers a compensated meal up to $20 in value from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. Teachers may select items from either the deli menu or the seafood menu.  


Charleston Parks Conservancy is scheduled to host Sunday Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 2 at the Rose Pavilion in Hampton Park. The event
will include live jazz music from the Lyndsey Moynihan Trio, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. There will also be food trucks such as Brunch Holiday, Braised in the South, and Madrigals Tacos and Latin Cuisine. Independent Grounds Coffee House will have coffee for sale and Mix Charleston will have beer, wine and mimosas available for purchase.

Advance tickets are $10. Tickets purchased at the door are $15. Admission for children 12 and under is free. No coolers or pets are allowed.
