On the Menu provides the latest news from the Charleston area’s culinary community, including new restaurants, new menu items and upcoming events, as well as details about local chefs. ATTENTION: Submissions should now be made using our online form.

Hooked Seafood is scheduled to open today at 24 N. Market St. in downtown Charleston. The restaurant is a collaboration from local restaurateurs Wade Boals, Brett Yearout and Joel Olindo, the same team behind Saltwater Cowboys on Shem Creek.

Hooked Seafood will be open for dinner service at 4 p.m. daily.

Almost 40 Carolina craft breweries have signed on to participate in the Charleston Beer Fest scheduled for May 18. Participating breweries include the following:

General admission tickets are $20 this month. Proceeds benefit Palmetto Community Care in its work providing HIV care and prevention education awareness. Parking for the event will be free.
