On the Menu provides the latest news from the Charleston area’s culinary community, including new restaurants, new menu items and upcoming events, as well as details about local chefs. ATTENTION: Submissions should now be made using our online form.

The Crab Shacks are now serving a new menu. It includes entrees such as shrimp and crab casserole and barbecued St. Louis ribs. 

The Ponds is scheduled to host the next of its Food Truck Fridays series from 5 to 8 p.m. May 18 at the Schulz-Lotz Farmhouse Pavilion, 326 Hundred Oaks Parkway in Summerville. Participating food trucks include Braised in the South, Bac’n Me Crazy, Damiano’s Wood Fired Pizza, Miracle’s Tasty Express, Trolly Dolly Treats, and Booze Pops. Coolers and beverages are allowed.

Hamby Catering & Events is offering a Royal Wedding Package for viewing parties for the May 19 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The package costs $99, feeds 10 to 15 people and includes the following:

• 48 “Coronation” chicken salad sandwiches
• Two dozen “Royal” open-faced cucumber rounds
• 16 “Crowning Glory” tomato pies
• A dozen shortcake biscuit rounds
• A dozen “Majestic” scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam
• “Victoria” Sponge cake layered with cream and jam.

Participants can also purchase a bottle of Hubert Clavelin Brut Comte Cremant Du Jura for $20. Orders must be placed by 6 p.m. May 18.

The S.C. Aquarium is hosting a Carolina Wine Mixer from 7 to 10 p.m. May 18. The event will include tasting stations throughout the aquarium. There will be sustainably sourced small plates from the aquarium’s Good Catch partners Acme Lowcountry Kitchen, Hank’s Seafood Restaurant, The Mills House – Wyndham Grand and The Boathouse at Breach Inlet, and drinks from Bottles Beverage Superstore.

Tickets are $40 for members, $45 for nonmembers. Members can call 843-577-3474 to buy their tickets at the discounted price.

Edmund’s Oast will host the Charleston launch party for Florida-based Funky Buddha Brewery in The Bower on Thursday, starting at 5 p.m. Customers can order several Funky Buddha Brewery beers:

• Last Buffalo in the Park (BA Last Snow)
• Pineapple Beach
• Floridian Hefeweizen
• Hop Gun IPA
• Last Snow
• Maple Bacon Coffee Porter
• Huki Idol DIPA with passionfruit and lime juices

Brewery representatives will be at the event.
