Partners in Primary Care will debut its new senior-focused primary care medical center on Thursday on Remount Road in North Charleston.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the center, 1213 Remount Road.
The new medical center will provide a variety of primary care services for seniors, including lab tests and checkups, in one location. Partners in Primary Care centers are staffed by board-certified physicians and care teams — behavioral health specialists, clinical pharmacist and social workers — who have been specially trained to treat the senior population, according to a news release.
Health education classes, fitness demonstrations and other activities for seniors will also be offered at an activity center on site.
The center will accept different Medicare health plans, including Aetna, Cigna-Healthspring, Wellcare and Humana.
A second center in the Charleston area is scheduled to open this month, the release said. Five Partners in Primary Care centers have opened in the Greenville-Spartanburg area since 2016.
Thursday’s grand opening will include facility tours and appointment scheduling, and the doctor and staff will be available to meet community members. There will also be exercise and cooking demonstrations, refreshments and giveaways.
