Harmon Field, a 13-acre park on President Street in downtown Charleston, recently became the Lowcountry’s 10th park to add free Wi-Fi access.
Wi-Fi was activated last week at the park’s baseball field and playground and the areas near Charleston Development Academy, a news release said. It was installed through a partnership of the Charleston Parks Conservancy, The Speedwell Foundation and the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation.

The Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation launched the Charleston Free Wi-Fi Initiative in February 2012. Since then, Wi-Fi has been added to Marion Square, Hampton Park, Corrine Jones Park, Mitchell Playground, Waterfront Park and White Point Garden in downtown Charleston, as well as Magnolia Park and Garden in West Ashley, Governor’s Park on Daniel Island and Riverfront Park in North Charleston.
Medway Park and Community Garden, a 4-acre space at 2101 Medway Road on James Island, is expected to receive Wi-Fi access next, the release said.
