ECPI University, which has a campus in North Charleston, ranked No. 1 among the best colleges and universities for veterans and military service members in the career and technical college category. The university also ranked No. 1 for among private, for-profit educational institutions.
The Military Times ranks schools based on survey results using a school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services along with academic outcomes. More than 300 schools participated in the most recent survey, ECPI said.
The Best For Vets: Colleges 2021 rankings are independently chosen by the editors of the Military Times using specific data from 70 questions about items such as costs, programs, policies and services that are of interest to military veterans and their families. ECPI said that data from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Defense also were considered in the valuations.
ECPI University Executive Director of Military Education Bill Brown said the designation reflects the support ECPI strives to provide to military veterans seeking continuing education opportunities.
“We have so many great military and veteran students, and the energy they bring to our campuses and classrooms is always evident; they add so much to our university,” Brown said in a statement.
“We trusted our military and veterans to protect our nation and families, and now they are trusting us to provide them the best education and support as they work towards earning a college degree,” he added.
ECPI University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools with locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Texas.
