Construction is expected to be complete this fall on Building 1 at the Eastport Distribution Center. (Photo/Provided)Dalfen Industrial, Colliers South Carolina and Dorchester County recently celebrated the groundbreaking for Eastport Distribution Center Building 1, a speculative warehouse.

Construction on the planned 229,840-square-foot building is scheduled for a fall completion date with Building 2 expected to deliver next summer.

“Our team is confident that the location and time of delivery for Eastport Distribution Center will provide valuable economic benefits to the Charleston area and fulfill the need for more warehouse and distribution space,” Kevin Caille with Dalfen Industrial said in a news release. “We will follow the completion of this building with Eastport Building 2 which will only add to the tremendous economic growth in the area by bringing new companies and jobs to Dorchester County.”

Both Building 1 and Building 2 (a 322,400-square-foot with a rail spur) are available for pre-leasing with tenant occupancy for Building 1 late this year. Both are rear-load facilities.

“Our team is grateful for the opportunity to continue working with Dalfen Industrial in the leasing efforts for both buildings at Eastport Distribution Center,” Matt Pickard, senior brokerage associate with Colliers, said in the release. “Eastport Building 1 will be the first speculative building to both break ground and deliver in Dorchester County. We are confident that this project will deliver spec industrial space to a growing Dorchester County at a time when it is needed most.”

Eastport Distribution Center is off Deming Way at 115 Horton Road in Summerville.
