Frampton Construction has finished building a 189,500-square foot industrial building in Summerville. It is the first of two buildings that will make up the 31-acre Portside Distribution Center near the Nexton Parkway interchange.
Colliers International is handling leasing for the 189,500-square foot, Class-A speculative facility. Frampton Construction said in a news release the building could be used by a variety of companies, including logistics, aerospace and automotive suppliers, defense contractors, light manufacturers and last-mile distributors.
The facility is located at 140 Portside Park Drive, beside Interstate 26 in the Charleston Distribution Corridor.
“Knowing the high demand for industrial real estate in the Charleston Tri-county distribution corridor, this project gives the entire team a great deal of pride as it comes to completion, and all the more with a second building on the horizon,” said Chad Frampton, president and CEO of Frampton Construction.
The first building, helmed by Randolph Development LLC, has a clear height of 32 feet and was constructed with structural steel and load-bearing concrete tilt walls. The company develops apartments and distribution buildings in the Carolinas.
Developers expect to break ground on the second building this spring.
