Lee Deas obviously has something to celebrate.
Obviouslee and Groundswell will combine to create a 30-person team, plus a network of partners nationwide, the company said. Following the acquisition, Groundswell will remain at the helm of the company’s active lifestyle and outdoor brands.
The decision to acquire Groundswell made sense, Deas said.
“We are excited to welcome Groundswell to the Obviouslee team and greatly admire their work,” Deas said. “With the experience and level of service that Groundswell is known for in the outdoor and active lifestyle space, coupled with Obviouslee’s creative design, strategic expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, we are ready to evolve and grow our team and work to the next level.”
Established in Charleston in 2005, Obviouslee focuses on brand development, event marketing, public relations, social media management and more. The business has gained prominence through its work with companies and events like Firefly Distillery, Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, Palmetto Solar, PGA of America, the Volvo Car Open and more.
Dax Kelm, who founded Groundswell PR in 2012 with Caroline Kelm, said he is looking forward to the company’s “next chapter” under the Obviouslee umbrella.
“As a complete package under one roof, we'll be able to offer the additional services of a fully integrated marketing agency while continuing to provide expert public relations services for brands across the country,” he said.
By partnering with Groundswell, Obviouslee welcomes brands such as Hydro Flask, Jones Snowboards, Turtlebox and more.
