Touchpoint merges with FishBait Solutions LLC

A marketing and communications company founded in Charleston in 2005 has merged with FishBait Solutions LLC, a marketing, consulting and investment company that represents several national brands.

Colleen Troy started Touchpoint Communications 16 years ago. The company went on to win national and regional recognition for its work with ArtFields in Lake City, Charleston Fashion Week, S.C. Parks, Recreation and Tourism and the Charleston Wine & Food Festival, among other regional and state organizations and businesses.

Troy will become vice president of communications for FishBait and general manager of the company’s food and tourism divisions, the company said in a news release.

“Finding a perfect fit for our diverse experience in event development, culinary festivals, tourism and economic development was a pretty tall order,” Troy said. “We’re thrilled to join forces with the FishBait team, where we can tap into exciting new opportunities and help grow organizations, campaigns and communities.”

FishBait said the merger will allow the company to utilize Touchpoint’s team, which has proven itself in creating “earned, owned and socialized media.” FishBait CEO Rob Temple said the merger will provide further depth for Touchpoint’s team and opportunities for more collaborative work.

“We’ve worked with Colleen and her team for years, and we’d stack them up against any other PR strategists and executors out there,” Temple said in a statement.

FishBait Solutions LLC, which is headquartered in Charleston, was founded by Rick Jones in 2003. The company focuses on three divisions of business. FishBait Marketing provides services for events and media clients. FishBait Consulting works with corporate companies such as Anheuser Busch, Capital One and Dollar General. FishBait Ventures is an investment division, which has equity holdings in several small startups, the company said.
