National Association of Home Builders recognizes Nexton

Nexton in Summerville has been named the Best Master-Planned Community in the U.S. by the National Association of Home Builders.

It also snagged top honors for Best Brochure and a Silver Award for Best Community Welcome Center and Best Signage. The awards were virtually presented at NAHB’s 2021 Nationals ceremony last week, the company news release said.

Nexton’s Vice President of Operations Brent Gibadlo said he and his team have always understood the experience the lifestyle-driven community offers.

“We set out to develop a sustainable, mixed-use, master-planned community that applied thoughtful architecture and innovative design in a socially responsible way,” he said. “Six short years later, Nexton is a regional commercial hub, comprised of corporate headquarters, fine dining, shopping and an array of recreational choices.”

The 5,000-acre community located near Interstate 26 in Summerville has won a number of awards in the past for its model.

In November, Nexton was named Best Master Planned Community in South Carolina by the Home Builders Association of South Carolina for forward-thinking design and sustainable land planning. The community also was recognized by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. as a Top 50 Selling Master-Planned Community

More than 6,000 people call Nexton home in a mix of single-family homes and luxury apartments. There’s also commercial and office space occupied by medical practices, banks, restaurants, retail and service sectors.
